In 2018, Cigna is making ABA a standard benefit in group plans they offer including both self-funded or fully-funded. Benefits will no longer be subject to age, dollar, or visit limits. The removal of limits applies to OT, PT, SPH, as well.

However, self-funded employers and states without passed autism insurance reform may see employers excluding the ABA benefit from the policy they design for their employees. One a positive note, we continue to see more and more self-funded employer-based insurance plans adding the benefit.
